The club

One club, almost a hundred years of history. Here you'll find who we are, who runs the show and where we're at home.

Who we are

Sportfreunde 1930 Uevekoven stands for the bond that's in our name: Sport und Freunde (sport and friends). Generations play together here: the Bambini who are just learning to walk, the First Team on Sunday and everyone who stays on afterwards in the “En de Meer” clubhouse.

On the pitch we're ambitious, but never at any price. What counts here is togetherness: we stand for community and for pulling together in the village, and we give children and young people values that carry beyond the pitch (team spirit, fairness, responsibility).

All of this is carried by volunteers: members built our clubhouse, which we call Das Labor, with their own hands, and half the village helped pay for the artificial pitch.

Sports ground & clubhouse

Our home is Uevekoven sports ground: an artificial pitch, a grass pitch and the “En de Meer” clubhouse. Around the club it's simply called Das Labor. Members built it with over 10,000 hours of their own labour, and it was finished in 1982. The board meets here, we celebrate here, and after the match a cold drink or two gets raised.

You can rent our clubhouse, Das Labor, for parties. Just ask Dirk Vollmer.

LED floodlights at the artificial pitch

The old metal halide lamps are gone. Since then, LED floodlights have lit the pitch more evenly; they can be dimmed and use around 60 per cent less electricity than the old system. The conversion was funded by the Federal Environment Ministry through the National Climate Initiative. Thanks to Lumosa GmbH.

Built with our own hands

Artificial turf, stand, clubhouse: most of what you see here exists because members rolled up their sleeves and half the village helped pay for it.
